This database is an attempt to look at the individual soldiers of the First Minnesota Infantry. The database is an extension the 1866 Adjutant Generals Report with the addition of 1860 census data. The First Minnesota Infantry veterans established a reunion association and their meeting notes contain material on the lives of the men after the war.

As most people who have done this type of work know, there is bound to be contradictory information, typos, poor sentence structure, etc. We decided to put the data out on the web with all it's shortcomings hoping some will find it entertaining or useful. If you have additional information or corrections please send them to us and we will update the database.

We would like to thank everyone who has sent us additonal information about the soldiers since this web site went live in 2000.
